The EU and UK reached a Trade and Cooperation Agreement

After intensive negotiations, on the 24th December 2020 the European Union and the United Kingdom reached an agreement on the terms of their future cooperation.

The draft Trade and Cooperation Agreement consists of three main pillars:

  • A Free Trade Agreement
  • A new partnership for EU and UK citizens’ security
  • A horizontal agreement on Governance

“1,259 pages that averted a no-deal scenario”, commented the ICCIUK President Alessandro Belluzzo.

Even with the new EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement in place, there will be big changes on 1st January 2021.
