The 74th edition of the highly anticipated Sanremo Music Festival – is fast approaching, and now the Italian community of Great Britain can watch it live and exclusive on Il Globo TV.
Sanremo Music Festival will be live on air from 6th to 10 February on Rai 1 and Rai Italia. The 74th Italian Song Sanremo Festival, a television song contest held in the Teatro Ariston of Sanremo, organised and broadcast by RAI. The five-night show shall be presented by Amadeus, the artistic director for the competition, with important Italian co-hosting and special International guests. After a new agreement between Rai Com & Il Globo TV, selected Rai channels are now, for the first time, available to Italians in the UK.
This is an exciting initiative for Rai, as the Italian community in the UK has grown enormously in recent years. The channel selection made available by Rai Com includes: Rai Italia, Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3, Rai News, Rai Storia and Rai Scuola.
Il Globo TV will also include channels and programs from other networks in Italy including LA7 Italia, TV2000, Inter TV and a range of Italian cartoons.
Throughout 2024, additional channels, films and documentaries will be added to the Il Globo TV package.
The Il Globo TV streaming service is available by downloading the Il Globo TV app on your Android, Samsung or LG television, or via Roku, Apple TV, Amazon, as well as your tablet / phone (both Android and iOS).
The bridge between cultures that Il Globo began building with Italy via its newspaper in November 1959 is becoming easier to cross thanks to new technology. Almost sixty-five years after its first pages went to print in Melbourne, Il Globo now offers to Italians daily news online via ilglobo.com, on radio via Rete Italia and now via television streaming, subscribing to Il Globo TV.
Currently present in Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, through the new agreement with Rai Com Il Globo TV extends its offer to the UK, Spain, South Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Malta, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Romania, Moldova, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania.
Times have changed, but the essence of the Il Globo project that started over sixty years ago has not. Il Globo’s mission is to serve the Italian community abroad, to act as a bridge between them and Italy. At the same time, Il Globo continues to play its other role promoting and supporting the Italian language, traditions and culture.
