18 November 2025 – Il Macellaio RC Soho, London
As part of the Italian Cuisine Week in the World 2025, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the United Kingdom is proud to host the presentation of the “San Leonardo” Project, a unique initiative that promotes training and social reintegration through Italian gastronomy.
Developed within High Down Prison in Sutton, the project aims to provide inmates with professional culinary skills, fostering personal growth and supporting their reintegration into society — a testament to how food can empower, educate, and connect people.
The event will open with institutional greetings from:
- Roberto Costa, President of RIAE and the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK
- Emily Martin, Director, High Down Prison
- Umberto Bernardo, Italian Embassy in London
- Domenico Bellantone, Consul General of Italy in London
- Giovanni Sacchi, Director, Italian Trade Agency (ITA) London
Following the presentations, Chef Matteo Losio, President of the Ligurian Chefs Association, will curate a tasting dinner at Il Macellaio RC Soho, celebrating the excellence of Italian cuisine and the values of inclusion and opportunity.
This inspiring evening highlights the transformative power of Italian food, not only as a symbol of culture and tradition, but also as a means of education, dignity, and social growth.
