5th World Week of Italian Cuisine

The World Week of Italian Cuisine, now in its fifth year, is an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to celebrate Italian cuisine and its excellent products around the world.

Thanks to the joint work of Italian Embassies, Consulates, Chambers of Commerce, ITA Agencies and Cultural Institutes, the event is held every year in 124 countries.

The 2020 edition will focus on the traditions of Italian cuisine, as this year celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Pellegrino Artusi, who is known as the “father of Italian cuisine”.

In 1891, Chef Artusi published “La scienza in cucina e l’arte di mangiar bene” (which translates in “Science in the kitchen and the art of eating well”), a book about Italian cuisine that gathers regional culinary traditions of the Bel Paese.

In order to celebrate Artusi’s cultural heritage, and within the True Italian Taste project, Assocamerestero, in collaboration with Fondazione Casa Artusi, is glad to share four videos of traditional recipes of Italian cuisine using PDO & PGI certified ingredients:

The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK is most pleased to take part in the edition, which will be held online from 23rd to 29th November.

The Scotland Office of the Chamber has organised two events in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture of Edinburgh, the Consulate General of Italy for Scotland and Northern Ireland, Alma and Ambasciatori del Gusto.

Our London office has teamed up with the Chamber’s member Jacobacci & Associati and their partner  Corrs Chambers Westgarth Lawyers for the online conference dedicated to “The Protection of Quality Assurance Labels and Local Products in the Post Brexit scenario”.

The event, which will be held at 9:30 GMT on 25th November, will present and discuss the legal framework of the quality assurance labels providing the audience with updates regarding the changing rules and what possibilities will be put in place to preserve the Italian authenticity abroad.
